THE HAND - is made up of professional artists that utilize their skills as teachers, performing artists and creative thinkers to not only inspire, but enrich and pass on the legacy of the African Diasporic Music, Arts & Culture.

Centered in the art & science of the Djembe Drum of West Africa as the primary learning tool, our philosophy is that the language of the drum and tells a story/history that relates to all... "THE DJEMBE HAS NO BORDERS".  We look instill REFINEMENT, SELF-DETERMINATION and COMMUNITY ACCOUNTABILITY in the youth whom we encounter.

DRUMMING is mathematics, history & geography, science & philosophy, spirit & language ...and because the drum and dance are born to go together, they teach us social graces, respect, teamwork & responsibility.
